Highly respected award in the name of brother of Dr Rajakumar – SP Varadaraj was given away on Sunday morning at Yavanika for Kannada cinema senior actor Dingri Nagaraj and theatre actor Kotturu Komalamma in a very affectionate event. Former union minister and former CM of Karnataka Veerappa Moily presided over the function at a crowded gathering at Yavanika auditorium.

Dr Rajakumar lived like a ‘Santha’ (Saint) and was major support in development of Kannada language. While MGR and NTR entered politics, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi offered a place in politics, Dr Rajakumar stayed away from politics. Such a legendary person brother SP Varadappa was his great strength opined Veerappa Moily in his address.

Dr Shivarajakumar speaking on this occasion stated that he intends to act in a film titled ‘Appanna’ that was affectionate name of his paternal uncle SP Varadaraju. Dr Shiv presented Rs.25000 each to the two Varadaraju Award winners on his behalf.
